NTG’s Water Park Feasibility Study
PROPERTY COUNCIL – MEDIA RELEASE
The Property Council welcomes the announcement of the Northern Territory Government’s funding for a Water Park Feasibility Study.
Property Council of Australia’s Northern Territory Executive Ruth Palmer said that the Water Park project, if it proceeds, is a smart initiative that builds on and compliments the existing infrastructure at the Waterfront.
“The emergence of a lifestyle precinct is a clever and unique concept that would help, in addition to the Government’s already announced CBD initiatives, to revitalise the city.
“Major private sector investment in projects that don’t conflate the existing vacancy problems in the CBD are drastically needed with revitalising Darwin City.
“Private Industry needs to help with the heavy lifting as the government can’t solve the problem on their own.
“A Water Park project would tick a number of boxes, such as the creation of a unique precinct that compliments the City rather than detracts and fragments it.
“It would also provide an economic boost and injection to the construction Industry to help retain jobs and population and long term economic benefits to the tourism sector, jobs and a facility that add to local amenities.”
