NT FARMERS SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES THE NORTHERN AUSTRALIA FOOD FUTURES CONFERENCE FOR 2016

NT Farmers CEO Mr. Shenal Basnayake noted that the Food Futures conference for 2016 had been a great
success. The conference which commenced with the VIP Presidents Lunch on Monday 11 April, concluded
yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Basnayake stated that all the attendees he had spoken to were extremely pleased with all aspects of the
conference, particularly the format it was run, which was a conversational format. Mr. Basnayake stated that
this appeared to really resonate with the audience, as attendees had mentioned they felt part of the
conversation. In addition the mix of both farmers and government representatives on stage made for good
grounded conversation.
Mr. Basnayake thanked all the sponsors, the speakers, the MC, the organisers, the media and most importantly
the attendees for making it possible for NT Farmers to run such a successful event. Mr. Basnayake further
stated that the representation across all three northern jurisdictions, the Federal government, from both sides
of politics and the calibre of attendees made it a key event for showcasing collaboration, interest and
opportunities in northern agriculture.
